Things I would never do after sending 80,266 cold emails!

1/ Lengthy emails are a big no-no

Emails under 50 words get 60% more replies.

2/ Don't use numbers in the subject line

Cold emails that include numbers in the subject line receive 46% fewer opens.

3/ Send more emails on Wednesday

Mid-week emails see higher reply rates than Monday, Friday & the Weekend.

4/ More than 1 question is a big no

Asking 1 question is the best. Reply rates drop as you add questions.

5/ Avoid fluff and simplify writing

In order to = to

Features = fluff

6/ Don't use Cliché constructions

Never use "Dear/Sir/Madam or "hope this email finds you well"

7/ Send simple texts

Never design emails, as they scream "Promo"

8/ Don't sell in the first email

The goal of the first email is to get a response, don't sell your product yet!

9/ Make sure you don't end up in spam

Warm up your email address and avoid spam words: free trial, investment opportunity, etc.

10/ Don't include complex words

Writing at a 3rd or 5th-grade reading level gets 67% more replies.

11/ Power of P.S.

Include a P.S. if you want to achieve 14% higher reply rates.

12/ 15 seconds only

Reading time should be limited to 0:15 seconds.

13/ Short subject line

The subject line should be 1-2 words and catch their attention.

The best subject line so far:

Their company <> Your Company

14/ Don't be too friendly! If you want to get 45% more reply rates maintain the neutral-formal tone!

Start with "Hey" instead of "Wazzup" or "I know you get tons of emails every day"

15/ Font size matters!

If you want to stand out and receive 20% more replies than usual in your cold email marketing campaign, consider increasing the font size of the body text from normal to H1.
